Visit Touraine by bike
An alert tourist will soon see that no, there aren’t any mountains in Touraine! This is the “glass half-empty” part. But because of our many vineyards, we always tend to see the glass half-full: the absence of hills means that most people (including families with young children) can get on their bikes and enjoy a fun trip with their hands on the handlebars and a smile on their face.
Practical tips: SNCF train stations, bike rentals, accommodation and the “Cyclists Welcome” sites, and even services of luggage transfer will make your trip easier. And if you use an electric bike, really, it’s all very easy!
As well as the major trails lasting several days (see below), there are also some 49 cycling circuits inviting visitors on enjoyable rides of a few hours.
