An authentic stay, history and sensuality at the Château Louise de La Vallière

At the heart of the valley of the kings of France, all the splendour and nobility of the Château Louise de la Vallière are now restored. You are invited to an immersion in the history of France, the history of royal mistresses, and to an exceptional Château-Hotel.

The 16th century château is near the royal town of Amboise. It hosted the first summer visits from the young Louise, the future Duchess de La Vallière and King Louis XIV’s great love.

A few centuries later, due to the devotion of its owner, Mira Grebenstein, this wonder of the Renaissance has been transformed into a luxury hotel with 20 rooms designed by the prestigious interior architect and decorator Jacques Garcia.

Each Suite and each Boudoir have their own tale to tell, where time seems to have stood still. The master decorator has highlighted the power of women, with their different characters expressed in the exceptional decoration: carefully chosen period furniture either purchased or made to measure, works of art, panelling and beautifully designed silk.

“An authentic stay? A stay rich in experiences, a break outside time, a change of scene… Like George Sand, who would set out from Paris with her carriages and servants and settle in Nohant for four months. Like Louise de La Vallière, who will be sharing this exceptional site with you at the heart of Touraine.” Jacques Garcia

Nestling in a listed 15-hectare forest, the Château is a true example of perfect harmony between history and nature. The ideal perspective in the French-style orchard, the avenues stretching out between the sculpted trees, the statues, the copses and the heady fragrance of the “Madame de La Vallière” roses, everything has been carefully designed to take you back to the age of kings.
