Top 5 of the wine activities in Bourgueil

You have planned to stay in Touraine? Whether you are with your family or with friends, these are a few original ideas to live an unforgettable experience in the beautiful vineyards of Bourgueil!

Visit the wineries

When you start to visit vineyards, start to visit the local wineries! A list of the wineries opened to the public is at your disposal at the Bourgueil Wine Union (syndicat des vins de Bourgueil) every weekend from April to the end of August.

You may also combine the visit of a chateau with a wine tasting! For this, go to the chateau in Langeais, Thursday, the 30th of May. Several Bourgueil wine growers will be there to give you a taste of their wines.

The “Bourgueil à table” dinners

What about a pleasant dinner prepared by a chef and served with the delicious local wine? These dinners will take place from April to September in the local restaurants with the opportunity to meet a wine grower and taste his wines.

A stroll in the vineyards

A 9 km path will take you to beautiful views of the vineyards. Go to the “Maison des vins” in Bourgueil to get the map and follow the signs! Last stage but not the least, on your way back from your walk, do not miss the wine tasting at the “Maison des vins”.

Bonus: post a picture of your walk on the social networks mentioning “@vinsdebourgueil”, and win a bottle of wine!

The “Maison des vins” in Langeais

If you have limited time between two visits of chateaux and wish to taste the local Bourgueil wine, a “Maison des Vins” located in the town centre of Langeais will be the ideal solution to taste and compare different wines from the Bourgueil appellation!

Vintage ploughing match in the vineyards

For the second year in a row, the Bourgueil Wine Union (syndicat des vins de Bourgueil) will organize a horse-drawn ploughing in the vineyards on July the 6th 2019. During the whole day, a professional jury will rate the work quality and the horse handling of around 12 players coming from all over France. It is the opportunity to discover an environment-friendly activity and an ancestral know-how.
