Hôtel Le Cheval Blanc – 3-star hotel in Bléré
Close by the Château de Chenonceau, Le Cheval Blanc has been welcoming international visitors for a long time now. The owners turned a fire in 2019 into an opportunity to fully renovate the hotel. The comfort in the rooms is outstanding, as is the restaurant, which is clearly on the gastronomic side of the force. Add to that a heated pool for sunny days, and you will be like a “coq en pate” (“as happy as a cockerel in pastry”). And for anyone wondering about the origin of this French expression, it comes from 19th century agriculture contests. The cockerel feathers were covered in dough to make them bright and shiny!

Amboise has many trump cards up its sleeve to seduce the greatest number of travellers. Among the many places where they can stay, Au charme Rabelaisien featured in the Top 10 of the best small hotels in France in 2019, on Tripadvisor (9th, to be precise!).
