In order to improve hospitality and the quality of tourism services in France, the government has established the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ label.
This label provides a common framework for the selected quality measures that have been undertaken with customer satisfaction in mind in the following areas: accommodation, restaurants, attractions, cafés, holiday rental agencies and Tourist Offices.
For visitors, the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ label is a way to identify establishments that provide quality services.
The professionals who display the label are subject to independent inspections of their services on a regular basis and are committed to providing you with:
- a warm, personalised welcome,
- clear and precise information,
- competent staff who are attentive to your needs,
- clean, comfortable areas,
- advice to help you explore the area.
Focus on attractions
The quality approach of the Loire Valley's tourism and cultural attractions is based on partnerships and voluntary support of quality. It was established by the Touraine Tourism Board (CDT) on the request of the Indre-et-Loire General Council and Loire Valley attractions, in order to ensure that the Loire Valley retains its attractiveness, and confirms the positive image indicated by visitors.
Since 2008, the French Tourism Ministry has officially recognised the the measures taken by the Touraine Tourism Board and Loire Valley attractions by granting the regional quality system status, thus enabling the participating attractions to obtain the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ label.
Around forty attractions in Touraine and the Loire Valley are committed to this quality approach. While the 19 major attractions involved in the Loire Valley heritage sites commitment to excellence (sites that have over 80,000 visitors per year) are of course natural candidates for the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ label, the goal is also to get less-visited sites involved in order to ensure that services throughout the area experience a consistent shift up-market.
In Touraine, the following attractions have obtained the label: the gardens of Villandry castle, Montpoupon castle, Rivau castle, Clos Lucé castle - Parc Leonardo da Vinci, the troglodytic valley of Goupillières, the Saint-Martin-de-Tours boat (Naviloire), Maison du Souvenir of Maillé, Balzac Museum - Saché castles, Chanteloup Pagoda, Valmer gardens, and Gizeux castles. Their commitments are mainly focused on hospitality (staff friendliness, use of foreign languages, signs...), infrastructure quality (cleanliness of the facilities, additional services related to the tour...), the tour (safety along the itinerary, tools used to assist during the tour...) and attentiveness to customers through a customer satisfaction questionnaire. They can be easily recognized thanks to the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ plaque on display at the entrance to the site.
Your opinion counts! The Touraine Tourism Board would like to receive your comments/suggestions in order to improve the quality of your stay.
