L'Indre à Vélo trail & other bicycle tourism routes

Along a cyling route in Touraine. Loire Valley, France. L'Indre à Vélo trail & other bicycle tourism routes

The great thing about 'Loire à Vélo' is that direct links to many other cycling routes like loops that make it possible to take short trips (a few hours) that start and end in the same place. You can also pedal along the Indre à vélo trail.

The Indre à vélo trail: Azay-Le-Rideau/Loches/Chenonceau by bike

The Indre à Vélo path starts in Azay-le-Rideau. Linked to the Loire à vélo at both ends, it runs for 100 km along the river Indre, on quiet roads that are marked and secure.

The various legs of this easy, captivating route will take you past many quaint villages, rustic landscapes and several significant tourist attractions (Azay-le-Rideau castle, the Montbazon keep, the Royal city of Loches...). You can rent a bike in Loches, in the Cycle Peugeot shop.

See the itinerary on google maps.

Bicyle tourism routes in loop

Other bicycle tourism routes are available in Touraine. They generally consist of loops around a town or an area. This is the case in Amboise (5 themed trips ranging in length from 27 to 42 km), in Azay-le-Rideau (5 loops ranging in length from 7 to 21 km) and near Loches (4 loops, 9 to 24 km). These routes are ideal for short outings to last a few hours.

For now, the maps are unfortunately only in French, here.
