Montpoupon was converted from a medieval fortress into a Renaissance residence in the 15th century. The Motte Saint-Pierre family has owned the château since 1857. They modernised it in the 1920s to make it a comfortable residence.
This Loire château immerses visitors in the owners' everyday lives with a non-guided audio visit through the fully furnished château, from the kitchens to the dining room via the private apartments. In the farm buildings, you can discover the family's passion for horseriding and hunting with hounds in the stables and saddlery, with horse-drawn carriages, paintings and Hermès scarves.
Visitors can also enjoy a forest walk in the château park. A visit adapted to children is available with the booklet "Solange investigates in Montpoupon".
